Big South Conference 1 and 2 Seed Go Down

In the Big South we saw the number 1 seed, Charleston Southern, go down to the number 9 seed, Longwood, which is pretty crazy even for a mid major conference tournament.  Only 4 of us picked Charleston Southern so it wasn't a complete wipe out.

Additionally, in the Big South Winthrop edged out Radford by 1 point, which knocked out 2 additional players.  Later in the night High Point, the 2 seed, and UNC Asheville were defeated.

The Big South is always a brutal conference to try and pick a winner from.

The Missouri Valley Conference was in action today and Wichita State easily advanced by beating Southern Illinois while Illinois State beat Evansville, giving Doug another loss.

Clicking the link below will give you the full spreadsheet so you can see the movement in the standings from today.  Day 4 has been just as brutal as the previous 3 days, only 4 people have stayed undefeated:
  • Me!
  • Aardvark Tina
  • Young
  • Chris Iannuzzi?  WTF, seriously?  The guy that lights a fire pit while standing in a fire pit doesn't have a loss yet?

Current Standings

Additional late games are still finishing up, so I'll post another standings update tonight or tomorrow morning that you'll be able to access via the link above.

Eastern Kentucky and Belmont is at halftime as I put this together and it is a great game.  We do have a few people with Belmont in the pool and a few with Eastern Kentucky.  The winner goes on to play Murray State for the Ohio Valley Championship game tomorrow evening.

Tomorrow night I will not be posting a blog, however we will have a guest blogger keeping us updated on the action, and we'll need these updates especially since 5 of us will not be around to watch the Ohio Valley Conference championship game.

We do only have 1 new conference starting tomorrow, the Summit League, and that gives us 10 conferences in play now.

Lucky guy gets to blog the first championship game!!  Let's see if Tim can write a basketball related blog without mentioning Bucky.
